If you missed out on watching Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, you will have the awesome opportunity to catch the award-winning film at no cost.

At 9.45am on 18 July, the movie will be shown in celebration of Mandela Day. Organised by Videovision Entertainment, The Nelson Mandela Foundation and Ster Kinekor, the R500-million movie has received great reviews around the world. Hailed for its accurate telling of Nelson Mandela’s story, it continues to amass positive reviews and has been revered by film critics.

It grossed over R1 million during its opening weekend in South Africa and the film’s overseas premieres, held in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and London, attracted royalty, celebrities and politicians alike.

Sello Hatang, chief executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation said in a statement that the film shows how Madiba left us an incredible gift, a legacy to cherish and make our own.

“We believe that Madiba’s value system rests on three pillars: free yourself, free others and serve every day. Let us all emulate the servant leader we loved, by all becoming servant leaders ourselves. We urge the public to attend the free screenings,” he said.
