The SABC COO Chris Maroleng announced on Friday that the renowned sports presenter will return to radio at the public broadcaster.

Marawa will have his sports radio show simulcast on both Metro FM and Radio 2000.

“The return of Robert Marawa to the SABC signifies the renewal of the SABC to what it was. The SABC is confident that Marawa will uphold the standard of excellence that we are driving,” said Maroleng.

Marawa’s show will be broadcast nationwide over a two-hour period (6pm-8pm), with an August launch date to be released soon.

“The SABC is where it all started, and it will forever be home. I look forward to continuing my radio journey at the SABC,” says Marawa.

Marawa’s work is globally recognised and he is a respected figure within the sporting community.

With a career spanning over two decades as a sports presenter, Marawa will bring his exuberant personality, extensive expertise and knowledge back on the airwaves.
